Deep Peace

Deep peace of the running wave to you. Deep peace of the flowing air to you. Deep peace of the quiet earth to you. Deep peace of the shining stars to you. Deep peace of the infinite peace to you. Adapted from ancient Gaelic runes A scarf or a stole? You decide! It all depends on how you block this. Made from an Alpaca/Wool blend, this scarf /stole will keep your neck and shoulders toasty come fall or winter, with out being scratchy. Materials: Yarn: 2 skeins of Isager Alpaca 2 ( $50\%$ Alpaca $\slash50\%$ Merino) Needles: US 5 straight or circular Stitch Markers Pattern Notes: There are 2 patern stitches which are separated by garer stitch rows. The edging along side also is done with garter stitch. For the first pattern stitch, Chart A, it is a 12 row patern and a 16 stitch pattern repeated 3 times on each row. There is 1 garter stitch between each pattern repeat. I found it easier to place a marker (pm) right after the final stitch of the 16 stitch pattern. It helped me to remember on the purl side to knit the stitch. You can place a marker, then knit and place another marker if this will help. For the second pattern Chart B, this is a 4 row pattern with a 6 stitch pattern repeated 8 times. There will be a knit stitch at the very beginning of the repeat and the very end of the repeat. These can be purled on the purl side. Don't forget to knit 4 at the beginning and the end of every row. Even on the purl sides! Cast on 58 stitches Knit 4 rows in Garter Stitch The first and last 4 stitches of every row will be knit on every row. Start Chart A or Written Pattern A Repeat Chart A 12 times Knit 4 rows in Garter Stitch The first and last 4 stitches of every row will be knit on every row. Start Chart B or Written Pattern B Repeat Chart B 18 times Knit 4 rows in Garter Stitch The first and last 4 stitches of every row will be knit on every row. Then repeat Chart A or Written Pattern A again 12 times Knit 4 rows in Garter Stitch. Bind off loosely and block to your liking.
