Golly
by Nicki Miller Gillie of the Glenbogle estate, Golly Mackenzie is my hero from the iconic BBC TV series MONARCH OF THE GLEN.He Seems to be everywhere at once, knowing exactly where the salmon are running, what is blooming on the moor, which birds are nesting, and where Big Eric is stalking. He's the strong and silent type who doesn't miss a trick, rarely venturing an opinion except when it truly matters, which makes him the most valued and trusted voice on the estate. Each evening, he trades his breeches and flyvest for a full dress kilt, playing the bagpipes to herald the evening meal in the MacDonald's imposing dining room. Designed for men, these socks are long enough to wear with a pair of wading boots and warm enough to ward off the chill hiking on a windy moor.
