Rovasiras socks

Rovasiras socks were inspired by a knitting pattern booklet that was a collection of traditional narrow cabled patterns. The pattern is reminiscent of the time long gone and runes. The name of the socks means the Runic alphabet used in Hungary..

Pattern
Leg
Cast on 64 stitches. Divide the stitches evenly on 4 needles. Start the leg with $^{*1}\mathrm{kl}$ tbl, $\mathfrak{p}1^{*}$ ribbing. Repeat the ribbing for 12 rows. Before you start the pattern, knit a preparation row: on the $3^{\mathrm{rd}}$ needle, knit the $8^{\mathrm{th}}$ stitch through the front and back, p1, k1 F&B, p1 and k1 F&B. Continue $^{*1}\mathrm{kl}$ tbl, $\mathfrak{p}1^{*}$ to the end of row. On next row, start the pattern according to the chart on the $8^{\mathrm{th}}$ stitch of the $3^{\mathrm{rd}}$ needle. Continue the pattern on the following 10 stitches, knit all other stitches. The leg is two patern reeats long. You may knit more repeats if you want longer g.
French heel
Transfer the stitches on 4th and 1st needle onto same needle. Knit the strengthened heel flap: On the right side $^{*1}\mathrm{kl}$ ,slip $1^{*}$ and on the purl side purl all stitches. Knit 32 rows flat. Start turning the heel: k17, k2tog, k1. Turn work, slip 1 stitch, p3, p2tog, p1. Turn work. Continue in this manner, knit on the right side and purl on the purl side until the stitch slipped on the previous row. Knit or purl that stitch together with the next stitch and knit or purl one more stitch. Continue until you have knitted all stitches.
Decreases
Pick up and knit 24 stitches from the edge of the heel, continue the pattern on the $2^{\mathrm{nd}}$ and the $3^{\mathrm{rd}}$ needles, pick up and knit 24 stitches from the other edge of the heel and divide the remaining stitches of the heel flap evenly on the $1^{\mathrm{st}}$ and $4^{\mathrm{th}}$ needle. Start the gusset decreases on every alternating row: k2tog in the end of the $1^{\mathrm{st}}$ needle and ssk in the beginning of $4^{\mathrm{th}}$ needle until you have 16 stitches left on the $1^{\mathrm{st}}$ and the $4^{\mathrm{th}}$ needle.
Toe
Continue knitting until the foot measures approximately 19 centimetres or is about 4 centimetres shorter than desired length and you have finished the $10^{\mathrm{th}}$ row of the chart. Decrease the “k2" places in the pattern in the same places where you made the increases in the beginning of the pattern. All needles now have 16 stitches. Knit 2 rows, or until the sock is long enough for decreases. Toe decrease round: end of $1^{\mathrm{st}}$ needle: k2tog, beginning of $2^{\mathrm{nd}}$ needle: ssk end of $3^{\mathrm{rd}}$ needle: k2tog beginning of $4^{\mathrm{th}}$ needle: ssk. Alternate decrease rounds and plain rounds for six rounds. Then continue only decrease rounds until you have 8 stitches left. Break yarn and pullit through the remaining stitches.
