Sarah's Gone in a Flash Skullie's (three styles) NOTE: make one of these and see how long you can keep it!
CLOSEDMESHSTYLE
Used Plymouth Encore (DK weight) and a size 4.5 mm hook. NOTE: DK is sort of a heavy sport yarn or a light worsted weight. The gauge is 5sc = 1 inch. Also, once rnd 11 is completed you should have a total of 66 stitches Round 1 -ch 3, join and do 6 sc in ring. Round 2 - 2sc in each sc around Round 3 - sc, 2sc in next sc, repeat around (increasing 6 in this round and every round until you have 66 stitches) Round 4 - sc in next 2 sc, 2sc in next sc, repeat around Round 5 - sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc, repeat around Round 6 - sc in next 4sc, 2 sc in next sc, repeat. Round 7 - sc in next 5sc, 2sc in next sc, repeat. Round 8 - sc in next 6 sc, 2 sc in next sc, repeat. Round 9 - sc in next 7 sc, 2 sc in next sc, repeat. Round 10 - sc in next 8 sc, 2sc in next sc, repeat. Round 11 - sc in next 9 sc, 2 sc in next sc, repeat. Round 12, sc in sc, \*ch 3, skip one sc, sc in sc, repeat from \* ending ch 1, hdc in beginning sc. Round 13-24 - repeat round 12. Round 25 -31- sc in sc, \*sc in ch 3 loop, sc in sc, repeat from \* placing a market at the first sc and working in rounds for a total of 7 rounds. End off. These can be done almost mindlessly except for the initial increases. Dark colors are a bit harder to see and you have to sort of keep the count in your head until you finish. Otherwise you can see to put the increase in the second of the 2sc stitch below.
