One scarf, worn 3 different ways.

Yarn LB COLLECTION, SILK MOHAIR (231yds, 25g, 70% super kid mohair, 30% silk) 1 skein, color #100 wisp PLYMOUTH YARN, ALPACA BOUCLE (70yds, 50g, 90% alpaca, 10% nylon) 1 skein, color #11 Knit in the round on large needles, this scarf is an easy knit. The use of contrasting yarns creates a striking texture. It can be worn as a scarf, a cowl or a hood. You only need to know how to knit. I specifially describe how to connect your work for working in the round. The only challenge, is working with large needles and thin yarn. Reminner

Yarn substitutions: Any other silk mohair yarn should work. Be careful about using a mohair yarn that is thicker than the sample as it will not give the same effect. You can experiment with textured yarns, although I would stay away from slippery nylon or rayon yarns.
Needles & Notions
Size 17 needles, 16’ circular 1 ring marker Yarn sewing needle Note: When you use the alpaca yarn for the first time just start using it, you do not need to knot it. Do not cut the alpaca yarn at the end of the round, but carry it up behind the rows of mohair. You can twist it if you want, but it is not necessary. Make sure the yarn stays loose and does not gather up the previous rows as you carry it up. It will be noticable to you as you knit it, but wearing the scarf you will not notice it.
Directions: .

you knit is on the right hand needle. Place a ring marker on the right hand needle, to mark the beginning and end of your round. Making sure the stitches are not twisted around the needle, knit into the 1" stitch that was cast on, that stitch is on the left hand needle. As you start the 2"d round, make sure one more time that the stitches are not twisted around the needle.) Knit 4 rounds using the mohair yarn. Knit 1 round using the mohair and boucle together. Repeat these 5 rounds, ending with 4 rounds of mohair, until you have about 3 yards of mohair remaining.

Bind off very loosely. This is important so that the scarf will fit over your head. You can use a larger needle in your right hand or even use 2 needles in your right hand as you bind off. I knit English style (I hold the yarn in my right hand) and I stuck my index finger on my left hand behind the stitch as I was knitting into the stitch so as I wrapped the yarn around the needle it also went around my finger, creating an extra loose stitch. Before cutting your yarn, make sure it is loose enough to fit over your head. Weave in loose ends.
