Instructions

Cuff Cast on 64 stitches and work 2x2 rib starting of with K2 as per Chart 1 until cuff has desired length. I usally knit about 3cm/1 1/4" which is equal to 12 rows of 2x2 rib. Now follow the Chart 2, until you have completed 15cm/6" to 20cm/8" for the leg or until desired length achieved.

Heel

The heel is worked over needles 1 and 2, following instructions as per Chart 2 for needle 1 + 2 until 30 rows have been completed for the heel flap. Start turning the heel. I've decided on the heart-shaped heal and was left with 18 stitches over the needle 1 + 2.

Foot

Pick up 16 stitches along the heel flap and continue working the round, reducing the stitches every second round Continue the pattern for the foot over needles 3 + 4 as per Chart 3 (right foot). The setup on your needle should be the following: Needle 2: 16 st picked up from the heel flap + 9 st left after completed heel turn Needle 3: 16 st, continue Chart 3 (right foot). Needle 4: 16 st, continue Chart 3 (right foot). Needle 1: 16 st picked up from the heel flap + 9 st left after completed heel turn Now start decreasing over needle 1 + 2 in every second round. Continue in pattern. On needle 2 continue in pattern to the last 3 st, K2tog, K1. Continue over needle 3 and 4 in pattern as per chart. On needle 3, K1, slip 1 knitwise, K1, pass slipped stitch over. Work one row without decreasing. Repeat the last two rows 8 times until you have 64 st in total. Of course you can pick your favourite type of heal. Continue in pattern, working Chart 3 (right foot) over needles 3 + 4 until desired length achieve. Again pick your preferred method for finishing up a sock. I decided to reduce the stitch until 16 st left and grafted the remaining stitches together. Continue with second sock, working Chart 3 (left foot).

You can swap the socks if you prefer wearing the socks with the cable to run on the outside of the foot. If the foot needs to be longer continue with the cable section of the charts. And now have fun knitting!
