US6 circular needle long enough for magic loop method SWTC Vicki Howell Craft (cotton/milk fiber blend) - you will need less than 50 yards, so 1 ball of this will make more than one soap sock. (This is the yarn used for the green soap sock, the yarn for the orange soap sock is Elsbeth Lavold Cotton Patine that was overdyed using Jaquard Dyes. Both these yarns are DK weight.)

Directions:
Using the Figure 8 method cast on 8 sts (4 on each needle) Mark beginning of round with stitch marker Round 1: knit around Round 2: \*k1fb, knit to 1 st before end of first needle, k1fb\* rep for second needle Rep these two rounds until there are 36 sts (18 on each needle) Begin lace section: Round 1: \*yo, k1, sl1, k2tog, psso, k1, yo, k1\* rep to end of first needle (3 times total), knit to end of round Round 2: knit around Rep these 2 rounds 6 more times (7 reps total)

Work 4 rows evenly (knit all rounds) Work eyelet round: Next round: $\mathbf{\hat{\mu}}\mathbf{k}\tau$ , yo, k2tog\* rep around to last st, k1 Work even for 5 rounds. Bind off loosely. Work i-cord for 12-15 inches. Weave in ends and thread i-cord through eyelet row.
