Cone of a Banksia

Banksia is an Australian wildflower, with flower spikes and a fruiting cone. The follicles on aged Banksia cones resemble "eyes". This cowl is specially designed for the Knitters'Annual Retreat in Toodyay, a country town where Banksia trees are widely grown. The elongated eyelets combine with a moss stitch pattern on the cowl resembles the "eyes" on the cone of a Banksia. Knitted in the round and in a lace weight yarn, the cowl looks delicate and light and will be a quick project to finish.
