MATERIALS
Two skeins of a Bulky Weight yarn. Shown in pictures: Cadena yarn $70\%$ Wool, $30\%$ Superfine Alpaca 110 yards.100grams Bulky Weight. Color: Mist. 1 set of US size 5 straight needles 1 set of US size 7 circular needles 16 in GAUGE Stockinette: 19sts / 24 rows $=4$ inches using US size 7 needles.
FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
Circumference: 22 inches Height: 9 inches Each section of 19sts is about 4.375 in (lf you would like to make it bigger or smaller play around with the needle size or just take out or add sts from each segment by twos.)

Moss Stitch Pattern (Reference)
Multiple of 2 Sts. Row 1: (right side): (k1,p1) across. Row 2: (k1,p1) across. Row 3: (p1,k1) across.. Row 4: (p1,k1) across.. Repeat Rows 1-4 for pattern.
DIRECTIONS:
With US #5 straight needles, cast on 5x19sts $=95$ sts (place markers to separate each of the 19sts segments.)
Base of Hat
1. Purl all 95 sts turn and do not close the circle yet. 2. Change to size 7 circular needles and knit all 95 sts. This prevents the curl from occurring. 3. Add marker and close the circle knit the first stitch and then purl next 17 sts and then knit last stitch before marker. So simply k1, p17,k1 for all of the remaining four 19 sts segments. 4. Again k1 ,p17,k1 for all segments.
Begin First Section
Start the Moss stitch pattern for all FIVE 19sts segments 1. k1,p1 (k1,p1, ...p1, k1) p1, k1 2. k1 ,p1 (k1,p1, ..,p1, k1) p1, k1 3. k1,p1( p1,k1, ...k1,p1) p1, k1 4. k1,p1( p1,k1, ..k1,p1) p1, k1 Repeat this pattern 4 times but skip row 4 the last time. So you will complete 15 rows total before continuing.

FINISHING
Cut yarn, leaving an 8" [20.5 cm] tail, and thread tail through the remaining 15 sts to close the top of the hat. Stitch together the first two rows on the bottom. Weave in ends.
