TWO ROADS HAT
Designed by Jennifer Tepper Heverly for Spirit Trail Fiberworks
Yarn:
Spirit Trail Fiberworks' Vesta (100% superfine merino, bulky weight), 210g, 300 yards per skein Hats shown in: The Witching Hour (gray), Spanish Tile (orange), & Celestial (blue /lavender)
Needles:
US 9 and US 10
Gauge:
16 stitches over 4 inches, in cable pattern, blocked
Sizes:
S/M [up to 21" circumference, with negative ease] L/xL [22"+ with negative ease]
Yards:
Brimless (both sizes): 100 yards Brim, S/M: 140 yards Brim, L/XL: 160 yards \*A note on sizes: for the brim hat, the small will fit most people snugly; I have a 21" circumference and knit the large size for myself because I prefer my hats not too snug (so I don't end up with a bad case of Hat Head). For the brimless hat, go with the size that most closely corresponds to what you typically knit for your size as it has less give without the roll-up brim.

Definitions:
SL1wyf: Slip one as if to purl, with yarn in front SL1wyb: Slip one as is to knit, with yarn in back P1tbl: Purl one through the back loop SSK: Slip two stitches from the left needle onto right hand needle, slip left hand needle into the front of both stitches, knit them together C2: Cable two stitches by holding first stitch in front of work, knitting next stitch and then knitting first stitch SL2KP2: Slip 2 stitches from left needle to right, knit the next stitch, pass the 2 slipped stitches over the knitted stitch (double centered decrease) K2TOG: knit two stitches together

PATTERN:
