Instructions
$\gg$ Pattern is multiple of 4 sts $^{+\,2}$ adding 1 for foundation chain $<<$ Chain 35 stitches for foundation. Step 1 - Crochet Rows 1 and 2 of the pattern stitch as outlined above. Step 2 - Repeat Row 2 until neck warmer reaches 20" / 50 cm, or whatever size is appropriate for the wearer. The most important thing is that the fronts touch comfortably without constricting the neck. Next, it's on to the 3-row extension, which should provide a measure of protection against the wind. Step 3 - Turn piece and CH3, [2 SC, CH2, 2 SC] in each 2 ch sp three (3) times; turn, repeat CH3, [2 SC, CH2, 2 SC] three (3) times; turn, CH 3, [2 SC, CH2, 2 SC] twice. Cut yarn and weave in ends. Step 4 - Lay neck warmer flat with the extended edge to the bottom, left (see diagram below). Fold into thirds, placing the extended edge placed atop the opposite side.

Step 5 - Use small pieces of yarn or removable stitch markers to mark the location for the two buttons, and then secure buttons on right side edge. Chain stitch "peaks"

Styling Tips
Depending on the weather, wear your neck warmer with the collar points turned down, with one up only or with both up to chase away the chill.
