Materials: A: 200 yds of bulky weight wool (sample shown with Melody Bulks Wool Blend in Alabaster from Hobby Lobby) I have knit this with Eco wool as well. B: 100 yds of novelty yarn for stripes. Size $10\,16^{\prime\prime}$ circulars · Size 10 DPNs · Three stitch markers (one that is different to mark end of round) · Darning Needle · Pom-pom maker Method: Cast on 60 with A Join to work in round being careful not to twist Work in Knit One Purl Two ribbing for approximately $2.5^{\prime\prime}$ Place beginning of round marker Work three rounds in stockinette stitch. Switch to B and knit three rounds. Change back to A. 1. Knit 20 stitches, PM, Knit 20 PM complete round. 2. Knit 3. Knit 4. K2tog, knit to next marker and slip it from one needle to the other, K2tog, knit to next marker slip it, K2tog. (3 stitches decreased) 5. Knit 6.Knit 7. Change to B, knit 8. Knit 9. Knit 10. Change to A, Knit 11. Knit 12. Knit 13. K2tog, knit to next marker and slip it from one needle to the other, K2tog, knit to next marker slip it, K2tog. (3 stitches decreased) 14. Knit 15. Knit Repeat rows 7-15 (switching to DPNs when needed) until you have six stitches left. Work these six as an I-cord for one round. Decrease by K2tog three times. Knit the next round as I-cord. Sliponeasiftopur, tog,assthe slipped stitchver.Passtheendoftheyarnthroughthefinalp and pull taut. Weave in ends. Tip: In order to make this hat easier, carry the yarn up the inside when switching colors. Makea $2.5^{\prime\prime}$ or larger pom-pom with both yarns to go on the tip of the hat, secure snugly.
