6mm knitting needles cotton yarn tapestry needle CO 36 sts. Row Repeat 1: K1, slip 1 purl wise with yarn in front. Continue until end of row. Row Repeat 2: P1, slip 1 purl wise with yarn in back. Continue until end of row. Continue these two rows until piece measures same as width. Mine was 6 1/8 in. Bind off. Weave in ends. Row Repeat 1: K1, P1. Continue until end of row. Row Repeat 2: P1, K1. Continue until end of row. Continue these two rows for 5 rows total. K all for 5 rows. Continue until you have 4 sections of moss stitch and 3 sections of garter stitch. On the 5th row of the last section of moss stitch, continue the pattern but bind off as you do so. Weaveinends. Linen stitch creates a much tighter fabric than other stitches. In order to make these cloths match in size, you need to cast on 26 sts for the stripes cloth instead of 36. It isn't a typo. When changing rows in linen stitch, your yarn will feel strange because it's actually coming from the stitch before the last one. It's okay, just work as normal and it will correct itself.
