Knitted Knot Bracelet Scrap Yarn (roughly 1-3yrds) DPNs of a size that fits yarn weight Darning Needle Patience A stylishly knitted bracelet, that uses the Turk's Head knot and one i-cord. Can be knit in any color and any left over yarn. Takes about an hour, and is a super easy knitting project. On Pinterest, I found an image that pioneered this project. I had to try my hand at it. Don't be daunted by the knot tying, it's easy after a little practice.

For this project I used worsted weight Red Heart Solid in Black, and Caron Simple Soft Solids in Pistachio. Both yarns worked well and both were scrap yarn, that I had nothing to do with. I used US 5 DPNs, since I didn't have a larger size. Any yarn weight and needle size will work. To estimate how long the single i-cord should be, wrap the i-cord around your wrist (or the object you will be tying the knot around). Thi i-cord should wrap 4 times around, then an extra 3. So a total of 7 wraps. It is better to estimate a longer i-cord, as you can always trim later. (My i-cord measured 60in, I have a very small wrist) When I tied the knot I did so with the yarn around my wrist and had the wrist held against my thigh. This way the bracelet had a more tailored fit. Others find it easier to wrap their yarn around a bottle or pole.

Cast on 3 stitches and knit an I-cord of a length that you determined using the method above.

Leave some yarn at the end, this will be used for connecting the two ends later. Once your I-cord is knit, bind off and cut yarn. Now begins the knot tying. It's not as scary as it looks. Just remember that the fundamental element of this knot is a braid, that is chased. This means you manipulate the yarn to make a braid, then just follow the yarn already laid down. In the link provided below, you will get picture instructions. The instructions are very through and easy to follow. But, if they don't work for you, just use google. There are many sites out there. http://www.animatedknots.com/turkshead/index.php When finished tying the knot (it may take more than one try), tuck the ends in under the yarn. So that the yarn ends hang out on the inside of the bracelet. Tie the ends together, twice and weave in ends.
