NOTES
Finished size: The finished acorn is approximately 9cm tall (not including the stalk) and 7cm wide. Work flat: All pieces are knitted flat (back and forth) on a pair of straight knitting needles, apart from the stalk which is i-cord knitted on two DPNs. Tension: The tension is approximately 20 sts x 26 rows for a 10cm x 10cm square in stockinette stitch on 4mm needles. Don't worry too much about tension, as the knitted pieces will stretch a bit when the acorn is stuffed. Please note that the pattern is knitted on a needle a few sizes smaller than that recommended on the yarn band, to create a denser knit fabric for your pincushion. Casting on: Unless otherwise specified, I prefer to use the long tail cast on for all pieces. Sewing seams: Use mattress stitch to sew the seams.
