
Untitled Socks Materials: Needles: 2.75 mm set of double pointed needles (or those required to get gauge). Yarn: Opal Sock Yarn in color “Harry”’ or any fingering weight yarn that knits to specified gauge. Gauge: 7 stitches per inch, 10 rows per inch. --stockinette-- Sizes: Small (Medium) Large; to fit feet 7-8" (8-10") 10-11.5” around. Cuff: Cast on 48 (64) 80 stitches using a very elastic cast-on method, such as holding two of the DPNs together and casting on over both of them. Divide stitches evenly over the DPNs and join in the round, making sure not to twist the stitches. [K1, P1] in the round until cuff measures 1.5" (or desired length). Leg: Work the chart over all the stitches':

Repeat the chart for a total of four (4) pattern repeats (or more,if desired). Heel Flap: Divide stitches in half, 24 (32) 40 and knit heel flap over these stitches: Row 1 (RS):Sl 1, knit all sts. Row 2(WS): [Sl 1, P 1] across all sts Repeat these two rows 12 (16) 20 times (for a total of 32 rows) then Row 1 once more. Heel: Row 1 (WS): Sl1, P 13 (17) 21, P2tog, P 1, turn. Row 2 (RS): Sl 1, K 5, SSK, K 1, turn. Row 3 (WS): Sl 1, P up to the stitch before the last turn (gap), P2tog across the gap, P 1, turn. Row 4 (RS): S1 1, K up to the stitch before the last turn (gap), SSK acros the gap, K 1, turn. Repeat rows 3 and 4 until all the stitches have been worked and 14 (18) 22 stitches remain. With the right side facing, pick up and knit 13 (17) 21 stitches along the side of the heel flap. Using a spare DPN, pick up stitches through the bigger, slip-stitch loops along the flap. Work acrossthe foot in the established pattern for the leg. With a spare DPN, pick up and knit 13 (17) 21 stitches along the opposite side of the heel flap. Continue across heel stitches to complete the pick up round with 64 (84) 104 stitches on the needles. \*\*Important! The center of the heel is the new beginning of a round’, so keep that in mind and mark it accordingly.\*\* Gusset: Row 1: Work all stitches in established pattern; knitting across the heel and gusset sections and working the foot sections in the charted pattern. Row2: Knit to the last 2 gusset stitches, K2tog, continue in pattern to beginning of opposite gusset, SSK, knit to end of round. Repeat these two rows until there are 48 (64) 80 stitches remaining. Foot: Continue to work all stitches in established pattern; knitting across the heel, gusset, and bottom of the foot sections, and working the top of the foot sections in the charted pattern until the desired length is achieved (foot length MINUS 2"” for working the toe). Note: in order to have the charted section be balanced, 1 stitch from the sole must be moved to the top of the foot and become the last stitch of the chart (Slipped, then knit on the next round). Toe: Center the toe stitches properly. Row 1: Knit across the toe to the last 3 stitches 21 (29) 37 sts, K2tog, K 2, SSK, knit across the toe to the last 3 stitches 21 (29) 37 sts, K2tog, K2, SSK. Row 2: Knit all stitches. Repeat rows 1 and 2 (disregarding the number of stitches after the first round and working the decreases as established) until 28 stitches remain. Distribute the stitches on two DPNs and using a tapestry needle, kitchener the toe closed. Weave in ends. Block according to yarn instructions. Enjoy!
