Ivateriais: Marigold Jen DK Weight in Yoshi (60-90 yards) Size 3 needles (either 2 circulars or 1 needle for magic looping) Gauge: 6 stitches to the inch Sized to fit a 1-2 (3-4) year old Tapestry Needle CO 16 stitches using Judy's Magic Cast-on, or other favorite toe-up sock method, cast on (8 on each needle). Round 1: Knit all stitches. Round 2: \*K1, kf&b, Knit until 2 stitches remain on needle, kf&b, K1; repeat from the \* for the second needle. Repeat rounds 1 and 2 until 36 (40) total stitches are on the needles (18 (20) stitches on each needle). Foot: Knit all stitches until total foot measures 3.75 (4) inches. Heel Placement: Next round: K18 (20) stitches, using the waste yarn, knit the remaining 18 (20) stitches. Using the sock yarn, knit the stitches that were worked with the waste yarn again. Leg: Knit 4 complete rounds or until sock is 2 inches less than the desired leg length. Ribbing: Begin working in 1x1 ribbing (K1, P1) for 2 inches. Bind off all stitches using your favorite stretchy bindoff. I prefer to use the following: K1, P1, move both stitches back to the left hand needle and p2tog, \*K1, move both stitches back to the left hand needle and k2tog, P1, move both stitches back to the left hand needle and p2tog; repeat from \* until all stitches have been bound off and weave in ends. Heel: Using a needle, pick up the right leg of 20 (22) stitches along the bottom of the waste yarn. You are picking up the original number of stitches plus 1 additional stitch on each side. Flip the sock so that the top of the waste yarn is facing you and repeat the process again. You should now have 40 (44) stitches on your needles. Remove the waste yarn. Begin to work in the round. Knit 4 rounds of stockinette stitch (If you would like to add or decrease depth to you heel, knit more/less rounds of stockinette stitch during this section). Begin to shape the heel as follows: Round One (4 stitch decrease): \*K1, SSK, Knit until 3 stitches remain, K2tog, K1; repeat from the \* on needle 2. Continue to work these two rounds until you have a total of 16 total stitches (8 on each needle). Kitchener the heel closed. Complete another heel on the second sock.
