This little pup can be knitted in less than an hour and then worn with pride! Modelled on Hetty, this Scotti measures approximately 6cm from nose to tail. When you cast on your dog leave a length of yarn long enough to sew him together.
Pattern:
Knitted throughout in SS. Using black DK yarn cast on 25 sts. Next row: K10, K2tog, K1, ssK, K10. (23 sts) Next row: P9, P2tog, P1, P2togtbl, P9. (21 sts) Next row: K8, K2tog, K1, ssK, K8. (19 sts) Purl 1 row. Cast off 3 sts at the beginning of the next two rows. (13 sts) Starting wtih a K row, work 4 rows in SS. Cast on 3 sts at the beginning of the next two rows. (19 sts) Next row: K9, turn work, cast on 10 sts, turn work, K2tog, K8. (28 sts) Next row: P12, P2tog, P2togtbl, P12. (26 sts) Next row: Cast off 5 sts, K5, K2tog, ssK, K11. (19 sts) Next row: Cast off 5 sts, P4, P2tog, P2togtbl, P5. (12 sts) Starting wtih a K row, work 6 rows in SS. Next row: Cast off.
Making up:
With the WS on the facing outwards and starting at the cast on edge (tail) sew the seam along the back of the dog, around the legs and around the head, stuffing with toy filling as you go. Sew two beads in place as eyes.
Collar:
