This cute little Gingerbread Man takes hardly any time at all to knit and works up from just a few meters of yarn. We've chosen to make him into a decoration for our Christmas tree, and have used Gedifra Aneja, which gives him a nice festive sheen. Materials Yarn: a few meters of Gedifra Aneja. We have used shade 1121 Orange. Needles: 5mm (UK 6, US 8) Other: stitch holder, toy stuffing, oddments of cream yarn for embroidering details, ribbon to create hanging loop.

Special Abbreviations st(s): stitch(es) rs: right side K: knit P: purl kfb: (knit front and back) Knit into the next stitch but leave it on the left needle. Now knit into the back loop of the stitch and pull it off the needle. There should now be 2 stitches in its place on the right needle. k2tog: (knit 2 together) Knit the next two stitches on the left needle together as if they were a single stitch. sl1: slip one psso: pass slipped stitch over Gingerbread Man shape (make 2 alike) Right Leg Cast on 5 sts. Row 1 (rs): kfb, K3, kfb [7 sts] Row 2: P Row 3: kfb, K4, k2tog [7 sts] Row 4:P Row 5: kfb, K4, k2tog [7 sts] Row 6: P Break the yarn, and transfer these 7 sts to a stitch holder.
