One of the Black Sisters, her evilness grates on you like 1000 runs in your stockings.
Gauge: 8.00 sts Needles: 2 circs, use whatever needle you need to get gauge Estimated Yardage: 328 Cast on 60 sts loosely. Divide sts on 2 circs as follows: N1: 30 heel sts N2: 30 instep sts
Cuff:
Work cuff in twisted rib stitch for 14 rnds. Twisted Rib - \*knit into back of stitch, purl\* to end
Leg:
Work leg in pattern for 56 rounds, ending with row 8. Row 1: Knit Row 2: Knit Row 3: \*yo , k1, yo twice, k1, yo 3 times, k1, yo twice, k1, yo, k6\* to end Row 4: Knit, dropping al yo's off needle. Row 5: Knit Row 6 : Knit Row 7 : \*K6, yo , k1, yo twice, k1, yo 3 times, k1, yo twice, k1, yo\* to end Row 8 : Knit, dropping all yo's off needle.
Heel:
Slip heel sts onto needle shaft. [30 sts] With RS facing,work back and forth as follows: Rw 1: Sl 1 purlwise, k1 to end. Rw 2: Sl 1 purlwise, p to end. Repeat these 2 rows until 24 rows are complete.
Turn Heel:
Rw 1: (RS) K 16 , ssk, k1. Turn. Rw 2: (WS) Sl 1, p 3, p2tog, p1. Turn Rw 3: (RS) Sl 1, k 4, ssk, k1. Turn. Rw 4: (WS) Sl 1, p 5, p2tog, p1. Turn. Rw 5: (RS) Sl 1, k 6, ssk, k1. Turn.
Dropped Stitch
The dropped stitch pattern in Bellatrix is a bit tricky to master. If in doubt, so down a needle size. Rw 6: (WS) Sl 1, p 7, p2tog, p1. Turn. Rw 7: (RS) Sl 1, k 8, ssk, k1. Turn. Rw 8: (WS) Sl 1, p 9, p2tog, p1. Turn. Rw 9: (RS) Sl 1, k 10, ssk, k1. Turn. Rw 10: (WS) Sl 1, p 11, p2tog, p1. Turn. Rw 11: (RS) Sl 1, k 12, ssk, k1. Turn. Rw 12: (WS) Sl 1, p 13, p2tog, p1. Turn. Rw 13: (RS) Sl 1, k 14, ssk. Turn. Rw 14: (WS) Sl 1, p 14, p2tog. Turn. 16 sts remain. Work 16 sts. Pattern Note : Instep will be worked in pattern as established, sole in stockinette.
Heel Gusset:
Work across heel flap sts on N1. With the tip of N1, pick up 12 sts along the side of the heel. Pick up a stitch from the row below the first instep st to prevent a hole. N2: Knit across 30 instep stitches in pat tern as established. With the point of N1, pick up a st from the row below the first heel st to prevent a hole. Pick up 12 sts along the side of the heel. Work remainder of sts on N1 (heel). Work across sts on N2 (instep).
Shape Gusset:
Rnd 1: (Dec Rnd) Heel: K1, ssk, work to 3 sts from end. K2tog, k1. Instep: Work even in pattern as established starting with row 2 of pattern, working sole in stockinette only. Rnd 2: Work even. Repeat Rnds 1 and 2 until there are 60 sts remaining.
Foot:
Continue working in rounds with instep in pattern, sole in stockinette until foot meas ures 2"less then desired length from base of heel. Complete instep sts.
Shape Toe in stockinette only :
Rnd 1: N1: (Sole) K1, ssk, work to last 3 sts, k2tog, k1. N2: (Instep) K1, ssk, work to last 3 sts, k2tog, k1. Rnd 2: Work even. Repeat Rnds 1 and 2 until 36 total sts re main. [12 rnds] Work decrease rnd only until 12 sts remain. [6 instep sts, 6 sole sts]
Finishing:
