Singoalla Knitting Pattern: A Versatile Scarf or Shawl Design with Adjustable Lace and Texture

Singoalla

Pattern illustration

Singoalla makes quite comfortable knitting. It will be a sheer scarf or shawl if you choose a thin yarn or a nice winter scarf or shawl to wrap around you if you choose a bif heavier yarn. If you choose a sockyarn and use bigger needles than recommended the lacy pattern will show beautifully. The actual lace pattern is only knitted on every fourth row and from the right side only, the other three rows in the repeat are knit or purl stitches. The only things you need to remember are the increases. The increases will be done right before or after edge stitches on each row, but it is listed in the description so as not to be forgotten! It might also be a good idea to use stitch markers, one on each side and possibly one on each side of the center stitches. Patterns repeat goes over 9 stitches and 4 rows and repeats will be placed just right over each other. The basic pattern can be varied · Add more rows in the pattern repeat, two extra rows will give a less lacey fabric. (The insertion of new patterns repeats will be a litle different so it might be best not to do that the first time you knit this shawl.) · Skip the change in the pattern of the last row. That way, it'll become straighter and a bit more graceful. · Cast off with just one strand of yarn. · Purl all rows from the wrong side to give the shawl less texture. · Other ideas?
