Yarn: 2 skeins Alpakkahuset 100% alpakka Pinner: 6 mm dpns, small circular and crochet hook. (The hat is knit with yarn held double, the edge is crochet with yarn held double)
Earflap:
Cast on 3 stitches 1: purl 2: kfb, k to 2 stitches left on the needle, kfb, k1 (5 stitches on the needle) 3: purl 4: kfb, k to 2 stitches left on the needle, kfb, k1 (7 stitches on the needle) 5: purl 6: kfb, k to 2 stitches left on the needle, kfb, k1 (9 stitches on the needle) 7: purl 8: kfb, k to 2 stitches left on the needle, kfb, k1 (11 stitches on the needle) 9: purl 10: kfb, k to 2 stitches left on the needle, kfb, k1 (13 stitches on the needle) 11: purl 12: kfb, k to 2 stitches left on the needle, kfb, k1 (15 stitches on the needle) 13: purl 14: kfb, k to 2 stitches left on the needle, kfb, k1 (17 stitches on the needle) 15: purl 16: slip 1 stitch, knit remaining stitches 17: slip 1 stitch, purl remaining stitches Repeat row 16 and 17 once more. Break yarn, and knit one more earflap (When the second one is done, do not break yarn).
The body of the hat:
· Knit all of the stitches on your earflap, cast on 24 new stitches, knit all of the stitches on the first earflap you knit, cast on 12 new stitches. Join for knitting in the round. ·k17, p 24, k17, p 12 (the purl stitches makes the edge stitches "tighten up"). · Continue knitting in the round until work measures 15 cm (from where you cast on between the earflaps).
Decrease rounds:
1. \*k 8, k2tog \* 2. Knit all stitches 3. \*k 7, k2tog \* 4. Knit all stitches 5. \*k 6, k2tog \* 6. Knit all stitches 7. \*k 5, k2tog \* 8. Knit all stitches 9. k 4, k2tog \* 10. Knit all stitches 11. \* k 3, k2tog \* 12. Knit all stitches 13. \* k 2, k2tog \* 14. Knit all stitches 15. \* k 1, k2tog \* 16. Knit all stitches 17. \*k2tog\*


Cut yarn, pull the end through the remaining stitches and sew inn all ends. Crochet an edge of single crochet stitches around the edge of the ha
Ties and pompom:
Cut 24 strands of yarn that is all 70 cm long. 12 of the strands are sewn trough the cast on edge o none of the earflaps and pulled halfway through. Braid the yarn and tie a knot on the edge. Cut the fringe to the length you like. Repeat this on the second earflap. Make a pompom and sew it to the top of the hat. Get some leftover yarn in a different color and embroider an alpaca on the front of the hat.
