Gauge on size 8 needles: 20 garter stitches over 4' This cover is knit in one piece, from top to bottom and back up again, then seamed at the sides. Using size 5 needles cast on 24 stitches, leaving tail end of about 24". Rib: Knit 2, purl 2 for 3". Switch to size8 needles Knit 2 rows. Make eyelet row: \*k1, yo, k2tog, k1\* to end. Next row: Knit Form shoulder: Next 8 rows: Increase: Make 1 in 1"t stitch and make 1 in 2"d to last stitch. (40 stitches) Body: Knit until piece is 11" long total. Form shoulder at bottom of cover: Next 8 rows: Decrease: k2tog in first two and last two stitches, until 24 stitches remaining. Form “buttonhole” for the hanging tab: K6, cast off 12 stitches, K6.
