YARN + NOTIONS
Needles:
· A pair of 3.75mm straight knitting needles (US 5)
Notions:
· Toy filling (less than 50g) · A darning or tapestry needle to sew the knitted pieces together Dark green felt fabric (10cm x 10cm square) for the holly leaves and pinking shears to cut the fabric
Yarn:
DK weight yarns; less than 25g in each colour per pudding:

Brown For the pudding Red For the holly berries Yellow For the custard topping I recommend Patons UK Fab DK in shades Chocolate, Canary and Cherry

NOTES
Finished size: Each pudding is approximately 7.5cm tall. Work flat: All pieces are knitted flat (back and forth) on a pair of straight knitting needles. Tension: The tension is approximately 22 sts per 10cm. Don't worry too much about tension for this pattern. Casting on: Unless otherwise specified, use the cable cast on for all pieces. Sewing seams: Use mattress stitch to sew the seams.

Making up: Sew the side edges together, adding stuffing as you sew. Finish by gathering the cast on sts together at the top of the pudding.

Custard Topping
Make 1 per pudding. Cast on 10 sts in yellow on straight 3.75mm needles. Row 1: k8, kfb, k1 (11 sts, RS) Row 2: p9, turn (remember to wrap the next stitch when you turn)

Making up: Sew the cast on and cast off edges together. Gather the side edges together to close the top of the piece. Sew in place on top of the pudding.
Holly Leaves
Make 4 per pudding. Cut 4 leaves from green felt fabric. Each leaf is approximately 4cm long and 1.5cm wide (a template is below). Cut the fabric using pinking shears to give each leaf a jagged edge.
Holly Berries
Make 3 per pudding. Cast on 3 sts in red on straight 3.75mm needles. Row 1: [kfb] x 2, k1 (5 sts, RS) Row 2: p (5 sts, WS) Row 3: k (5 sts) Row 4: p (5 sts) Row 5: [k2tog] x 2, k1 (3 sts) Pull through to cast off (leave a 40cm yarn tail which you can use to make up the berries). Making up: Using the cast off tail, sew a running stitch around the outside of the piece, and pull to gather together make a small bobble. Sew the berries on top of the holly leaves. Row 6: p7, turn Row 7: k5, kfb, k1 (14 sts) Row 8: p6, turn Row 9: k6 (14 sts) Row 10: p all sts (pick up the wraps on the wrapped sts on this row) (14 sts) Row 11: k11, k2tog, k1 (13 sts) Row 12: p11, turn Row 13: k8, k2tog, k1 (12 sts) Row 14: p8, turn Row 15: k5, k2tog, k1 (11 sts) Row 16: p5, turn Row 17: k2, k2tog, k1 (10 sts) Row 18: p2, turn Row 19: k2

Making up: Sew one end of each leaf on top of the pudding.
