RIBBING
Using smaller needles (2.75 mm) cast on 128 stitches using long tail method. Work in k2, p2 ribbing for 1 inches, knit next row (ws) increasing 16 stitches to 144 stitches. HAT switch to larger needles (4 mm) Row 1 - (rs) purl Row 2 - (ws) knit Row 3 - \*ssk, yo, k1, yo, k4, k2tog; repeat from \* to end Row 4 - Purl Row 5 - \*ssk, [k1, yo] twice, k3, k2tog; repeat from \* to end Row 6 - Purl Row 7 - \*ssk, k2, yo, k1, yo, k2, k2tog; repeat from \* to end Row 8 - Purl Row 9 - \*ssk, k3 [yo, k1] twice, k2tog; repeat from \* to end Row 10 - Purl Row 11 - \*ssk, k4, yo, k1, yo, k2tog; repeat from \* to end Row 12 - Purl Repeat rows 1 - 12 Four times, Five for a super slouchy beret
DECREASE ROWS
Row 1 - \*k2tog; repeat to end Row 2- Purl Row 3 - \*k2tog, repeat to end Row 4- Purl

Row 5 - \*k2tog, repeat to end Row 6 - Purl Row 7 - \*k2tog, repeat to end FINISHING Cut long tail - pull through remaining stitches, sew up seam. Block by dampening beret and placing over 10" dinner plate, allow to dry.
