BERET
RIBBING Using smaller needles 2 US(2.75 mm) cast on 128 stitches using long tail method. Work in k2, p2 ribbing for 1 inch, knit next row (ws) increasing 16 stitches to 144 stitches. Switch to larger needles 6 US (4 mm) and begin body of hat. FINISHING
Cut long tail - pull through remaining stitches, sew up seam. Block by dampening beret and placing over 10" dinner plate, allow to dry.

CUFF
Cast on 52 stitches, join in round using the Magic Loop method, being careful not to twist and work in K2, P2 for 1 1%2 inches.
BODY OF GLOVE
Stitches are divided into 2 equal groups of 26. Front of glove is worked as charted, back (palm side) 26 stitches are worked in stockinette. Once chart is complete start top edge of glove as writtenbelow.
TOP EDGE OF GLOVE
Knit 8 rounds Next round: k1, \*yo, k2tog, repeat from \* to end, k1 Knit 8 rounds Cast off all stitches leaving long tail to sew down picot edge after blocking.

Option 2 - close fitting rib (shown) Work in K1, P1 rib for 1 inch, bind off in pattern.
FINISHING
Weave in all ends. Block glove paying special attention to properly blocking picot edge. Fold over picot edge and sew into place.
