Difficulty
According to the skill levels outlined in the yarn standards by the Craft Yarn Council, this is an easy pattern. It is not a beginner's pattern. http://www.craftyarncouncil.com/skill.html
Materials
8 ply or DK yarn is recommended, you will need less than 100g 4mm hook is recommended, determined by your gauge Yarn in two colours of your choice.
Size
This size 0 beanie will fit a baby with a head circumference of between 16 and 18 inches. This is typically the size of a baby's head when they are around 6 to 12 months of age, but please measure baby's head to be sure. In the picture the hat is worn by a 15 inch head, so it looks a little larger on the intended size head. The hat is 5.5 inches from tip of crown to brim, and 6.5 inches when stretched.
Gauge
The first 2 rounds should measure 2 inches across, if they are smaller use a larger hook, if they are larger use a smaller hook. The first 4 rounds should measure 4 inches in diameter.
Special Stitch
"Granny Cluster" - sk 2 3 dc into next, OR 3 dc into next sp "sp" - the space between two granny clusters
Notes
- Stitches are worked into the top two loops of a stitch, they are not worked in between stitches or into one loop. - To hide the seam, join the last sl st to the 1st dc not the 1st st, to hide the seam (the 1st dc is not the same as the 1st st). - For the increasing rounds, last st is worked in the last sl st of the prev rnd.
