Abbreviations used: ch = chain sp = space sC = single crochet dc = double crochet Special stitch used: Open Shell Stitch: Double crochet, chain 1, double crochet, chain 1, double crochet all into the same space. Shell made. This pattern uses chain multiples of 9 plus 4 For my first blanket I chained 81 +4 (85), with a K hook (6.5mm) and light worsted weight yarn. The yarn brand is Red Heart Boutique Unforgettable, in Parrot. For my next blanket I chained 90 + 4 (94), with anI hook (5.5mm) using baby/sport weight yarn. I used both Bernat Baby Softee in Princess, and Patons Behive Baby in Precious Pink. However, this pattern is versatile, and can be used with any combination of hooks and yarn!
