The Knitting Therapist
A Little Obsession Difficulty Level: 昊灵 (out of5) It's not a problem until someone thinks it is, right? Well, I have a little problem with Rowan's Kidsilk Haze. I love it, probably a bit too much. But I can't keep it all for myself, I must spread the word. So, I came up with this scarf design. Based on the Razor Shell pattern by Sarah Don (found in her incomparable book The Art of Shetland Lace Knitting) this lace pattern is elegant and simple enough for a near-beginner lace knitter to take on, and interesting enough to keep the rest of us awake. The best part is, it only takes one ball of Kidsilk Haze. The perfect gift for you or your fashionable friends.

SIZE
One size - 6 inches wide and 58 inches long (or you can knit until you run out of yarn)

GAUGE
24 sts and 24 rows to 4 inches over pattern stitch using US#7/4.5mm needles
PATTERN
With yarn and needles, CO 37 sts Begin to work in Razor Shell Variation Stitch: Row 1: k1, \*yo, kl, sl 1, k2tog, psso, k1, yo, $\mathrm{k}1^{*}$ , rep from \* to end of row. Row 2: pl, $^{*1}\mathrm{k}5$ , p1\*, rep from \* to end of row. Work in Razor Shell Variation until work measures 58-60 inches or until desired length. If you are knitting to the end of the ball, ensure that you have at least 1 yd of yarn left to BO after completing a Row 2 of pattern. BO all sts loosely.
FINISHING
Carefully weave in all ends. Mist scarf with water and block with hands, allow to dry. If you're brave, do as I do: press the scarf with a steam iron to allow lace pattern to open up. MODELED BY: Jasmine Cirjanic (brown scarf) Tammy MacKenzie (red scarf)
