EZ-PZ Striped Mitts

Everyone loves stripes, but that generally leaves so many tails to weave in. That is not the case with these mitts. These are a great weekend or vacation project. And the best part is that they are fun for everyone. Do them in school colors for some team spirit, holiday colors for a little extra festiveness, or any color combination you like. They are also an affordable project. You will only need two balls of yarn!
Materials:
-sock weight yarn in 2 colors (example is done in a metallic chainette yarn similar to the one from Halcyon yarns.) -size 5 dpns or two circulars
Gauge:
-7 stitches and 10 rows in 1" using stockinette in the round
Instructions:
With main color, cast on 36 stitches. Join for working in the round. Work in 2x2 rib for 3/4". Row 1: Switch to contrasting color and knit one round. Row 2: Switch back to main color and knit one round. Repeat rows 1 & 2 for 6" ending with a contrasting color row. Work flat for the next eleven rows as follows: Two rows main color. Two rows contrasting color. Three rows main color. Two rows contrasting color. Two rows main color. Return to working in the round with rows 1 & 2, starting with the contrasting color and ending with the main color. Work in 2x2 rib for 3/4" and bind off.
