Right Glove
Cast on 48 stitches and divide evenly onto needle. Being careful not to twist the sts, join in the round and work p1,k2,( p2,k2) to last stitch then p1 for one row, then begin working chart 1 for two repeats. Thumb gusset Next row : p1,M1R,k2, M1L, p1, continue chart 1 until the end of the row. Next row :p1, k4, p1, continue chart 1 until the end of the row. Next row: p1, M1R, k4, M1L, p1, continue chart 1 until the end of the row. Next row : p1, k6, p1, continue chart 1 until the end of the row. Next row : p1, M1R,k6, M1L, p1, continue chart 1 until the end of the first original 24 sts (palm), then p2, chart 2, p2 (top of hand). Next row: p1,k8,p1 , continue chart 1 until the end of the first original 24 sts ,then p2,chart 2, p2. Continue increasing in this manner until you have completed row 16 of chart 1. Move thumb stitches to waste yarn. Cast on 4 sts onto the right needle. Join and continue in pattern until the last 4 cast on sts, slip these 4 stitches onto the Ieft needle. Je in pattern as established until chart 2 is finished, then continue in chart 1 as establishe Continue in pattern until desired length has been reached. Cast off using a stretchy cast off technique.( My favorite is "Jeny's surprisingly stretchy bind off" which can be found at Knitty.com)
Thumb
Place held stitches back onto needles and divide evenly. Pick up and knit 5 stitches to close the gap and continue to knit for 2 rows. Next row: knit until the 5 picked up stitches then ssk, k1, k2tog. Next row: knit until the last 3 stitches then slip 1, k2tog, psso. Knit for 5 more rows then continue in p2,k2 rib, increasing(m1) or decreasing(k2tog) a stitch to make it work, until desired length has been reached. Cast off using a stretchy technique.

Left glove

Cast off using a stretchy cast off technique.
