Itty Bitty Chihuahua Puppy Dog
Materials:
-Scraps of 4ply yarn -2.75mm double pointed needles or circulars -Small amount of Toy Stuffing -Optional Pink/brown crayon for coloring in the ears -Needle and thread for adding facial features and sewing together.
Gauge
Gauge is not important as this is a toy, do go down several needle sizes to prevent stuffing through the toy.
Head, begins with the Muzzle
-CO 4 sts, join in round -Knit -Knit front & back of each st (8) -(K f&b, k2, k f&b) 2 times (12) -(K f&b, k4, k f&b) 2 times (16) - (K f&b, k2) repeat to last 3 sts, k3 (21) -K 5 rounds -(K5, K 2tog) rpt to end (18) -(K4, K 2tog) rpt to end (15) -(K3, K 2tog) rpt to end (12) -(K2, K 2tog) rpt to end (9) Stuff Head Here -(K1, K 2tog) rpt to end (6) -( K 2tog) rpt to end (3) Leaving a Tail, Cut Yarn, thread through 3 remaining sts, pull tight. Weave in ends. Embroider on eyes, nose & mouth.
Ears, make 2
CO 5 sts - stocking st 2 rows -k 2tog, k1, k 2tog -p -k 2 tog, k1 -p 2tog Leaving tail, cut yarn, fasten off and weave in end. With purl side facing front of head, attach the ears. With colored pen shade the inside off the ear (optional)
Body
CO 10sts, join in the round. This is the neck end -k -(K1, K f&b) rpt to end (15) -k -(K2, K f&b) rpt to end (20) -k -(K3, K f&b) rpt to end (25) -k 2 round -(K 3, K 2tog) rpt to end (20) -k -(K 2, K 2tog) rpt to end (15) -k -(K 1, K 2tog) rpt to end (10) Stuff head here -k -(K 2tog) rpt to end (5) Leaving Tail, Cut yarn, fasten off and weave in end. Attach body to head.
Legs, make 4
CO 3 sts icord 7 rows Cast Off & attach to body.
Tail
CO 2 sts, icord 5 rows, K2 tog Cast off attach to body. Now Play with your Itty Bitty Puppy!
