Water to Sky Anklets

Lacy anklets with a short row heel. The lace insert on the foot is from Barbara Walker's Second Treasury, with a column of fagotting on either side. Materials 2.5 mm needles, set of 4 dpns 200 yds sock yarn Tapestry needle Gauge 15 sts to $z^{\prime\prime}$ in st st Special stitch notes Decrease 3 to 2 - Ssk stitches 1 & 2, reorient 2nd loop onto L needle, then k2tog this 2nd loop & stitch 3 Instepchart 28 row repeat. Only patterned rows are charted. On odd rows, knit every stitch.
Instructions
Cuff: CO 64 and join in round. Work (k1tbl, p1) around for 4 rounds. K 1 round. Heel: Heel is knit back and forth over 32 sts as follows: - Row 1 (RS): k31 w&t - Row 2 (WS): p30 w&t - Row 3: knit to last unwrapped stitch, w&t - Row 4: purl to last unwrapped stitch, w&t Repeat rows 3 and 4 until 8 unwrapped sts remain. - Row 5: k9, w&t - Row 6: p10, w&t - Row 7: knit to last twice-wrapped stitch, k1, w&t - Row 8: purl to last twice-wrapped stitch, p1, w&t Repeat Rows 7 & 8 until all sts have been wrapped twice. Foot: Round 1: Knit all sts, picking up one st at the end of the round, giving you 33 instep sts and 32 heel sts. Round 2 onwards: Knit heel sts, and work lace chart on instep sts until foot measures 2 inches less than required length, ending with an even row. Toe: Round 1: Needle 1 - k1, ssk, knit to end. Needle 2 - knit to last 3 sts on needle, k2tog, k1. Needle 3 - k1, ssk, k12, dec 3 to 2, k12, k2tog, k1. (64 sts) Round 2: Knit all sts. Round 3 (decrease round): Needle 1 - k1, ssk, knit to end. Needle 2 - knit to last 3 sts on needle, k2tog, k1. Needle 3 - k1, ssk, knit to last 3 sts on needle, k2tog, k1. Round 4: Knit all sts Repeat these two rounds until 40 sts remain. Work round 3 only until 20 sts remain. Kitchener stitch top and bottom sts together.
