Buffalo Gold Sexy Mitts By Heidi Todd Kozar

A silky, sexy pair of luscious mitts that will keep you warm inside and out. Buffalo Wool's Hand Dyed 50/50 Bison Down & Silk is a scrumptious fiber you won't want to put down. The mitts are knit in the round; with no thumb or finger details they are a fast and easy knit. With a simple six stitch pattern repeat, Buffalo Wool Sexy mitts would even be a wonderful introduction to stranded color work knitting. The Bison Down and Silk blend elevates them to an heirloom quality gift. Possible Yarn substitutions: Any silk/natural fiber blend, lace weight yarn would also work. (Do not use heavily variegated yarns.)

Notes
Mitts are knit in the round. Mitts would make a very good first stranded color work project. The colors on the charts are only a suggestion, each Sexy Mini has eight colors in each bundle, go wild and use them in any combination you like. In the sample I used a German Twisted Cast on to keep the corrugated ribbing from curling. This type of cast on is shown in Meg Swansen's Knitting. A Cable Cast On can be substituted.
Begin
With #1 dpns, and color Burgundy cast on 72 sts. Join, being careful not to twist stitches, PM, to marker the beginning of the round. Rd 1:K2, P2 for one round in Burgundy. Rd 2: K2, in Burgundy. K2 in Med. Gray Continue following Ribbing Chart. When finished with round 11 of Ribbing Chart begin Chevron Chart. All sts are knit. The chart shows two repeats of the pattern and the beginning and end of the chevron pattern placement on the mitts. The area inside the black boarder is the actual repeat and this will be repeated 12 times around each mitt. There are three vertical repeats of the chevron pattern on the mitten. Upper Ribbing Repeat Ribbing Chart as drawn, Round 1-11. Bind Off loosely. Weave in ends. Steam Block 2015
