Gauge: For this cowl, it's not important as long as it's big enough for you.

Skills needed:

Casting on, knit and purl, joining in the round, carrying unused yarn up rows, binding off.

Abbreviations:

MC: Main Color (Buffalo Wool Company - Tracks in Raspberry) CC: Contrasting Color (Knit Collage - Daisy Chain in Hyacinth)

Pattern notes:

I used the long-tail cast-on and a normal bind-off, but feel free to use whatever method you prefer. Do not cut yarn until the end. When changing colors, just carry the old color up by picking up the new color and catching the old color yarn so it is caught in the stitches (so the old color is secured in the stitches). If you mess up and some yarn is exposed, just leave a long tail at the end and just secure any exposed carried yarn with your tapestry needle. It's no big deal and hides well.

Instructions:

With MC cast on 120 stitches, join in the round taking care not to twist the stitches. Row 1-2 (MC): Knit. Row 3 (CC): Purl. Row 4-8 (MC): Knit. Row 9 (CC): Knit. Row 10-15 (MC): Knit. Row 16 (CC): Purl. Row 17-22 (MC): Knit. Row 23 (CC): Knit. Row 24-65: Repeat Rows 10-23 three more times. Row 66-70 (MC): Knit. Row 71 (CC): Purl. Break yarn leaving enough to weave in. Row 72-73 (MC): Knit.
