Glove Notes
1. Gloves are knit in the round on double-pointed needles. Two circular needles or the Magic Loop can be used instead. 2. Length can be customized. 3. Lace can be knit from written instructions or charts. 4. Wraps-per-inch (wpi) is a way to measure yarn size. Without stretching, wrap yarn around a ruler for 1" (2.5 cm), and count the strands.

INSTRUCTIONS Cast-on
Gloves start on a multiple of 4 sts. Loosely cast on 40 sts. Divide onto 3 dpn—12 sts on Needles 1 & 2, and 16 sts on Needle 3. Being careful not to twist, join to knit in rounds. Round 1: purl around. Round 2: \*p1, k2, p1\* around. Start Lace Rib.
Lace Rib (Chart 1)
Round 1: \*p1, k2tog, yo, p1\* around. Rounds 2 & 4: \*p1, k2, p1\* around. Round 3: \*p1, yo, ssk, p1\* around. Work Rounds 1-4 until piece measures 3.5" (9 cm) or desired length, ending with Round 2. Start Thumb Gusset.

Hand

Work Lace Rib until glove measures approximately 7.5" (19 cm) or desired length, ending with an even round. Cast off in purl. Start Thumb Lace.
Thumb Lace (Chart 3)
Thumb length can be customized by working fewer or more patterning rounds. Put 14 thumb sts onto 3 dpn—6 sts on Needle 1, and 4 sts on Needles 2 and 3. Start round at front ofthumb. Round 1: p2, \*yo, ssk, p2\* around, and with Needle 3, pick up and knit 2 sts in backwards loop caston sts. (16 sts) Rounds 2, 4, 6, 8 & 10: \*p2, k2\* around. Rounds 3 & 7: \*p2, k2tog, yo\* around. Rounds 5 & 9: \*p2, yo, ssk\* around. Round 11: Cast off purlwise.
Finishing
Weave in yarn ends. Make second glove same as the first.
Blocking
Steam lightly to block.
