INSTRUCTIONS:
Cast on 8 stitches with red on dpns, divide 2 on each needle, (or work Magic Loop or on 2 circulars), join in round, place marker at beg of Rnd. Round 1 and every odd round: ktbl around Round 2: kfb around (16 sts) Round 4: (kfb, k) rep around (24 sts) Round 6: (kfb, k2) rep around (32 sts) Round 8: (kfb, k3) rep around (40 sts) Continue in this manner, increasing the k stitches between increases by one’ each even rnd until 176 stitches. Last rnd worked is an odd rnd of “ktbl around'. While having 176 stitches, change to red and continue straight down: Round 1: k2tog, yo Round 2: knit Round 3: yo, ssk Round 4: knit Round 5: yo, k2tog Round 6: knit Round 7: ssk, yo Round 8: knit repeat 3 times Change to white. Make pin tuck: p 1 round and then 4 rounds knit. Knit next row as follows: \*Pick up the upper part of st under the purled round, put loop on right needle, k1, lift the loop over k st to close the loop\*, repeat from \*_\*. Change to red. Make pin tuck twice. Change to white. Make pin tuck. Change to red. Make pin tuck. Change to white. Knit 1 round, increasing evenly to 190 stitches. Start the Ligonberry Leaves pattern, repeat it twice (32 rounds) Change to red. Kfb one round. Knit so many rounds, as you need for covering your wire - I needed for corsetery 6 rounds. K2tog one round.

Finishing: As in pin tuck, pick up the upper part of stitch of first red round, put loop on right needle, k1, lift the loop over k st to close the loop, cast off stitch. When you have 6 - 8 stitches left not knitted, run through pin tuck “tube” your wire and knit and close last stitches. Take elastic thread and sew it three times around pin tucks to make it hold on baby's head. Knit flower: Cast on 16 stitches. Cast off 16 stitches - you have on needles only one stitch, and one petal ready. Cast on another 15 stitches, cast them off - you have again only one stitch on needle, and two petals. Pick up very first stitch that you've knitted, knit one stitch through and run it through stitch that you had on needles, so you have again only one stitch. Keep knitting until you have 16 petals (or as much as you prefer). Close last stitch and sew flower to hat.
