How to make an I-cords:

Cast on 4 stiches. Knit one row, then: Step 1: Do not turn the work. Just slip your work to the other end of your double pointed needle. Your working yarn will be at the "wrong" end of your work. Step 2: Pull the working yarn tightly along the back of your work and knit the next row. Repeat Steps 1 and 2 until you have I-cord of your desired length. Give the Icord a tug every few rows to keep the stitches even. Cut the thread and pull it through all 4 stitches to end the piece. Using Us2 needles, make I-cords for each of the designs to the desired length. I-cords can be used to make both bracelets and necklaces.

Design 1: Twisted I-cords (Figure 1)

Using US2 needles, make two I-cords of the same length in two different colors. Thread colors shown are Black and white. Measure your wrist to estimate the length you'll need; necklaces can vary in length. Stitch the two I-cords at one end. Loosely twist then stitch together at the other end. Attach magnetic or other clasps at both ends.

Design 2: Braided I-cords (Figure 2)

Using US2 needles, make three I-cords of the same length in three different colors. Thread colors shown are Scarlet, Navy, and white. Measure your wrist to estimate the length you'll need; necklaces can vary in length. Make the length longer than what you measure to allow for the resulting shorter length after braiding.
