A toque fit for a Canuck, eh!

Design by Lyndsay Richardson Show your Canadian pride this winter with a circle of maple leaves around your head, topped off with a white fluffy snowball!

Materials:

1 skein Cascade 220 colour#9404 Red (R) 1 skein Cascade 220 colour#8505 White (W) $\mathbf{16^{\circ}}$ circular needle 3.75mm and set of dpns 3.75mm Tapestry needle

One size (fits average adult) Abbreviations: k - Knit p - Purl kitbl - knit one stitch through back of the loop k2tog - knit two stitches together ssk - slip first stitch as if to knit, slip second stitch as if to knit, knit the two stitches together

Instructions:

Brim:

Cast on 102 stitches using long-tail provisional cast-on Rows 1-10: Using R, [kitbl, p1] repeat until end of round Row 11: Using R, knit one row plain

Body of Hat:

Row 12-48: Using R and W, work in chart pattern for body of hat

Decreases:

Row 49: Using R, [k2tog, k15, ssk] repeat until end of round Row 50: Knit one row plain Row 51: [k2tog, k13, ssk] repeat Row 52: Knit one row plain Row 53: [k2tog, k11, ssk] repeat Row 54: Knit one row plain Row 55: [k2tog, k9, ssk] repeat Row 56: Knit one row plain Row 57: [k2tog, k7, ssk] repeat Row 58: Knit one row plain Row 59: [k2tog, k5, ssk] repeat Row 60: [k2tog, k3, ssk] repeat Row 61: [k2tog, k1, ssk] repeat Row 62: [k2tog] repeat
