Materials:

Knitted window ornament - 10 (15) grams = 0.35 (0.5) laceweight yarn. - 2.5 mm (between US 1 and 2) DPN set - 0.75 mm crochet hook for adding beads - 2.00 mm crochet hook - stitch markers - seed beads or rocailles, plastic or glass: 48 red, 80 pink, 80 transparent, 8 larger ones for the center by Christine Noller - round wire hoop, 25 (30) cm = 10 (12) inches in diameter

INSTRUCTIONS

Thread the 8 larger beads onto the working yarn, join to the round and knot the yarn. Continuing with the same strand of yarn and using a crochet hook, [M1 by pulling the working yarn under the strand between two beads, yo] 8 times in all. Divide these 8 sts and yo's onto 4 needles and knit one row. With the resulting 16 sts, continue working from chart. (There are two charts: for 10-inch-hoops and 12-inch-hoops, chose the correct one to work from. Numbers for the bigger hoop are in parenthesis. Add beads where indicated in chart.) After round 32 (40), bind off with a crochet hook as follows: [Take 4 sts onto your crochet hook at once and bind off together, ch7] repeat until all sts are used up. Leaving a 90 cm (1,30 m) = 35.5 (51) inch tail, break the yarn. Pull the end through the last chain st, then connect the chain archs to the hoop: [pull end through arch, wind end around the hoop once] rep to end (see bottom picture on page 1). For a hanging loop, crochet a chain, or bead a length of yarn in the desired length
