The second photo is of the same dress made with a more traditionally sized sock yarn, also knitted on #2 needles. This yarn has a bit of elasticity so it fits snugger and also a bit shorter. The only changes I made in the pattern are in the shoulder Thus: Work one round of seed stitch. Continuing in seed stitch K4 k2tog twice, k7, k2tog twice, k9, k2tog twice, k7, k2tog twice, finish round. \*K2 tog, yo\* around CO. Instead of using a ribbon, I crocheted a chain of the same length and used that to thread though the eyelets. I glued a bead to the ends of the chain. These are cute but a bit oversized.

This garment opens in the back so you'll need to fold and hem that edge and sew on snaps or Velcro. Hem or bind neck and arm edges, sew shoulder seams, side seams and hem. I'm a barely adequate sewer so you're pretty much on your own with the details but the pattern fits a 6" American Girl doll. Check that the measurements on the pattern match your print-out before you cut!
