Knitting GM's Dice Pouch
Pattern: Dice Pouch
Cast 8 stitches onto one needle. Row 1: purl across (total of 8 stitches) Row 2: k1fb all stitches placing 4 stitches on each of 4 needles (total of 16 stitches) Row 3: Join work being careful not to twist the stitches, knit around Row 4: on each needle, k1fb, knit to last stitch, k1fb (24 stitches) Row 5: knit around Repeat rows 4 and 5 until you have the desired number of stitches in multiples of 8 stitches. Continue to knit in the round until you are about an inch short of the desired height. To determine the spacing of the drawstring holes, follow this formula: $$ \mathsf X=\mathsf Y/8-2 $$ where y is the total number of stitches. Drawstring row: knit x stitches, yo, k2tog For example:, if your pouch has 48 stitches $\mathsf{X}=48/8-2=4$ Drawstring row: k4, yo, k2tog Knit for about another inch. Cast off loosely and weave in ends. This produces a top edge that roll over. Alternatively, you could crochet around the top edge to stiffen it or cast off in i-cord. Sew up the hole in the bottom of the bag Drawstrings canbe made of i-cord, braided or crocheted yarn, leather, ribbon, dragon heartstring or anything you prefer.
Pattern: I-cord
Cast on 3 stitches. (Cast on two stitches if you've knit a small pouch.) \*Push the knitting down to the right end of the double-pointed needle. Knit across.\* Note: if your i-cord is loose, try knitting into the back of the stitch.
