The ruffles are worked in round If you have circular knitting needles in the same size, you can change to them now.
1st ruffle
With your main yarn and right side of the work facing pick up one stitch at the end of each row/round at the bottom of the cowl. Pick up through back loops. Place a marker so you would know where the round ends. Round 1: \*knit 4 stitches in stocking stitch, increase 1\* repeat \*-\* all across, knit the last stitches if you have less than 4 left. Rounds 2-5: knit Round 6: purl all stitches Round 7: purl cast off all stitches.
2nd ruffle
With yarn B and right side of the work facing pick up one stitch at the end of each row/round at the bottom of the cowl. Pick up through front loops. Place a marker so you would know where the round ends. Round 1: \*knit 2 stitches in stocking stitch, yo\* repeat \*-\* all across, knit the last stitches if one left. Rounds 2-3: knit Round 4: purl all stitches Round 5: change to yarn A! Purl cast off all stitches. Cut the yarn weave in all ends. Decorate the front piece of the cowl with beads. First string the beads with a needle on a yarn (or thread if you are using smaller beads) up to desired length from one shoulder to other. Then sew the beads on place bead by bead, see the picture below.
