Silvercreek One Skein Linen Stitch Bag
I found myself purchasing one skein of Biscotte & Cie (Gobelin self striping)worsted weight yarn with absolutely no idea what to do with it. I thought it might make a nice little travel bag for carrying my passport, wallet, phone, keys, so came up with the following design.

What you will need:
One skein worsted weight wool (100 gr at 175 yards) - I had about 15 gr left over Two 3.5 mm double pointed needles One 3.5 mm circular One interesting button One small/medium crochet hook used for the cast on
Overview:
This bag is knit in the round with no seaming from the top down with an i-cord around the top You will knit the bag first, then the strap and i-cord closure
Directions:
Body of bag:
On circular needles, provisonally cast on 57 (I use the technique demonstrated by Lucy Neatby's provisional cast on video) Join and ensure the stitches are not twisted Linen Stitch for 6 - 7", however long you choose to make it Knit for 1 row Kitchener stich to join I-cord finish at top of the bag Take the live stitches from the stop of the bag (provisional cast on) and place on circular needles Cast on3with DPN R1: knit 2, ssk (slip 2 stitches knitwise, knit them together), slide to end Repeat row 1 until last row Cast off 3 Join the two ends together
Strap
I made a 48" strap so the bag can cross over, choose the length you desire (I suggest grabbing a bag you own and like and measure that) Cast on7onDPN's R1: With yarn behind (WYB), slip one knitwise, \*with yarn in front (WYF) slip one purlwise, knit 1,\* repeat 2 more times R2: WYF slip 1 purlwise, \*purl 1, WYB slip 1,\* repeat one time, purl 1 Attach the strap to the inside of the bag
I cord
