Loom Knit Moustache Hat

Things You Will Need:
31 peg loom for baby (0 - 9 months) 36 peg loom for toddlers and children ? 2 skeins of worsted weight yarn, or 1 skein bulky weight yarn in white (or hat colour of choice) and black Loomhook Yarn needle (for binding off and weaving in ends)
Modifying the Pattern:
If you want to make the hat shorter just stop looming when it has reached your desired length. If you want to make the hat longer just keep knitting more rows.
Hat
With white yarn (or colour of choice) cast on allthe pegs using 2 worsted weight strands of yarn as 1 strand OR using 1 strand of bulky weight yarn. 1. Ewrap the entire row 2. Purl the next row 3. Repeat steps 1 & 2 (alternating ewrap and purl stitches also known as garter stitch) for a total of 6 rows 4. Ewrap the rest of the hat until it measures 6.5inches for a newborn or 7inches for3-9 months Bind off by pulling the needle through pegs 1 & 2, hold the yarn behind pegs 3 & 4, needle through pegs 5 & 6, hold the yarn behind pegs 7 & 8, and continue around the loom. Once all the way around put the needle through all of the stitches you didn't go through the first time. Pull off the loom and pull yarn to close. Knot off and weave in ends.
Moustache
With black yarn cast on athe pegs using 2 worsted weight strands of yarn as 1 strand OR using 1 strand of bulky weight yarn. 1. Cast on pegs 1, 2, and 3 2. Ewrap 4 rows 3. Expand to peg 4 and ewrap the row 4. Ewrap 3 more rows 5. Move the stitch from peg 4 to peg 3 and knit off (pull the bottom loop over the top loop) 6. Ewrap 3 rows 7. Move the stitch from peg 1 to peg 2 and knit off 8. Move the stitch from peg 3 to peg 2 and knit off. You will now have just 1 loop on the loom on peg 2. 9. Expand to pegs 1 and 3 by wrapping around peg 1, then wrapping peg 2, and then wrapping peg 3. Pullthe bottom loop over the top loop on peg 2 so that pegs 1, 2, and 3 all have 1 loop. 10. Ewrap 3 rows 11. Expand to peg 4 and ewrap the row 12. Ewrap 3 more rows 13. Move the stitch from peg 1 to peg 2 and knit off 14. Move the stitch from peg 3 to peg 2 and knit off. You will now have just 1 lop on the loom on peg 2. 15. Cut the yarn and pull the ends through the loop and take off the loom. Using the tail piece of yarn stitch the moustache on to the hat. Shape the moustache so that the ends point up when you stitch them in.Knot and weave in the ends.
