Yarn Requirements: MC: Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sport 3 (3, 3, 4, 4,4) skeins CC: Lorna's Laces Lion & Lamb 1 (1,1,1,1,2,2) skeins Gauge: 24 stitches and 28 rows= 4 inches on size 5 needles in Stockinette Stitch 22 stitches and 28 rows = 4 inches on size 5's in pattern stitch Needle Requirements & Notions: 24” size US 5 circular, 2 size 6 double pointed needles for tie, set of US sz 5 DPN's for sleeves Stitch markers Sizes: 32, (34, 36, 38, 40, 42) Pattern Stitch: Row 1 (RS): YO, k2, Pass YO over 2 knitted stitches, Repeat Row 2 (WS): Purl Pattern Notes: Increases are done on every WS row. On every 5th and 7th row throughout most of the raglan shaping, there will be an odd number of stitches in the front sections. For these rows, the first and last stitch will be worked as a single stitch yarn over as follows: YO, K1, pass YO over 1 stitch, continue in the normal pattern as stated until the last stitch, YO, K1, Pass YO over 1 stitch. Sleeves are done in stockinette stitch Instructions: With MC and sz. 5 circular needl, CO 1 st., PM, CO 12 (12, 14, 14, 16, 16) stitches, PM, CO 40 (40, 42, 42, 44, 44) stitches, PM, CO 12 (12, 14, 14, 16, 16) stitches, PM, CO 1 stitch (WS) Row 1: P1, M1, slM, P1, m1, purl to 1 stitch before marker, M1, P1, slM, P1, M1, purl to 1 stitch before marker, m1, P1, slM, P1, M1, purl to 1 st before next marker, M1, P1, slM, M1, P1 Row 2: work in pattern to M, slM, knit all sleeve stitches, slM, work in pattern across back stitches, slM, knit all sleeve stitches, slM, work in pattern to end. Row 3: (P1 M1, purl to last stitch before marker, M1, P1, SIM) to end Row 4: repeat row 2 Repeat Rows 1-4 until 14 (14, 18, 18, 18, 18) increase rounds have been worked. At this point, work only rounds 3 and 4 until the increase rounds are finished. You will always have an even number of stitches in the 2 front sections for the rest of the increase rows, eliminating the single stitch YO. Continue increasing until a total of 23, (25, 28, 30, 32, 34) increase rounds have been worked. 282 (302, 324, 344, 370, 390) stitches 0n the needle. On the next WS row, P to first marker, remove marker and place 60(64, 72, 76, 82, 86) sleeve stitches on a holder, P across back stitches, place 60(64, 72, 76, 82, 86) sleeve stitches on holder, purl to end 166 (178, 184, 196, 210, 222) stitches remain on the needle Continue increasing into the first and last stitch only for 6 (6, 7, 7, 7, 7) more WS rows. Knit in pattern until work measures 8(8, 8 1/2, 8 1/2, 9, 9) inches from underarm Leave work on the needles while you start the tie. Ile instrucuons: With size 6 needles and CC, CO 7 stitches and start ribbing: Row 1 (RS): K1, P1, K1, P1, K1 Row 2 (WS): P1, K1, P1, K1, P1 Continue in rib for 25 inches Next RS row: work in rib to last stitch, sl 1st stitch on main needle to DP, K2tog with last stitch in CC Next WS row: sl next stitch on main needle to DP, P2tog with first st in CC, work to end. Continue with these two rows until all stitches on the main needle have been worked, work in rib for 25 more inches and BO.
