SIZE: baby (0-12 months) FINISHED MEASUREMENTS: 14" in circumference (unstretched )& 6" long YARN: 1 skeins of Patons Classic Wool in each color; 100% pure new wool; 192m /210yds; 100g /3.5oz; Color: Lime (lemongrass), Berry (coral or turquoise or wisteria) NEEDLES: five US6 (4mm) double pointed needles NOTIONS: tapestry needle, place marker GAUGE: 20 sts & 28 rows = 4"(10 cm) over stockinette stitch pattern \* This item is knitted in the round for a clean, seamless look
Lime & Berry hat
With Berry, CO 70 sts. Divide sts between 4 needles. Join for working in the round (rnd), being careful not to twist sts; place marker for beginning of round. Begin ribbing. RIBBING 1 - 4: \*ktbl1, p1, rep from \* to end. Work ribbing pattern for 1inch. Begin stripe patterr STRIPE PATTERN Switch to Lime. Rnd 1 - 4: knit. Switch to Berry. Rnd 5 - 8: knit. Repeat rounds 1 - 8 one more time, switching colors accordingly. Switch to lemongrass yarn. Work round 1 - 5. (keep switching colors accordingly, every 4 rounds). Begin decreasing rounds. Dec rnd: (k2tog, k8) 7 times. Knit 2 rounds. Switch to Lime. Knit one rnd. Dec rnd: (k2tog, k7) 7 times. Knit 2 rounds. Switch to Berry. Knit one rnd. Dec rnd: (k2tog, k6) 7 times. Knit 2 rounds. Switch to Lime. Knit one rnd. Dec rnd: (k2tog, k5) 7 times. Knit 2 rounds. Switch to Berry. Knit one rnd. Dec rnd: k2tog 21 times. Cut your yarn, leaving 6" tail and pull thread through stitches.
