Coral Snake Scarf


Garter Stitch Coral Snake Do without the color change to make a garter stitch garter snake. :-) Garter stitch is easy and fun. This is a great project for someone just learning to knit. Simple increases, simple decreases and it uses only the knit stitch. ww yarn needles - 9 k = knit k1fb = knit 1 front and back (of same stitch to increase) k2tog = knit 2 together (knit next two stitches together to decrease) color A - Black Color B - Yellow Color C - Red with A cast on 7 Stitches R1-k R2 k1, k1f&B, k across repeat R2 until there are 19 stitches on the needle knit for 7 rows k, k2tog, knit across repeat until there are 13 stitches on the needle knit 2rows change to Color B knit 4 rows change to color c knit 18 rows change to color b knit 4 rows Change to color A knit 18 rows Repeat these 4 rows until Scarf is desired length end with Color C Change to color B knit, k2tog, knit across repeat this 3 more times (total of 4 rows of color b) Change to Color A for making the tail knit, k2tog, knit across repeat this until you have 1 stitch on needle bind off Weave in the ends.
