PATTERN NOTES
This pattern is suitable for someone who can knit in the round on double pointed needles. The size of the project combined with the worsted weight wool, make it a great, quick project. Other skills required are increasing and decreasing, embroidery, making I-cord, and seaming.

Using a length of MC (for the photos a contrasting color was used), wrap yarn around the outside of the bean to form the nose. Anchor in place. Insert safety eyes (if using) where desired, or use photos to guide their placement. Stuff earthworm lightly. Round 47: k2tog 7 times, 7sts Thread the yarn tail onto a darning needle, run through each stitch on your needle, and pull tight. Bend the earthworm into a shape you like and secure in place using the yarn tail. Rather than the yarn tail, the photo shows a contrasting color for clarity. Weave in tail. Use cast-on tail to close the cast on edge and weave in ends.
Finishing
Embroider eyes (if not using plastic safety eyes), eyebrows and mouth. Add accessories, like a felt bow tie and crafting wire glasses. Smoosh the fiberfill about inside your George to enable him to slither unsupported and to adjust his shape to your liking.
