Socks inspired by the always hilarious Funke family: Lindsay, Maeby and Tobias. Designed by Liz Abinante
Lindsay
[ feministy.com |liz.abinante@gmail.com ] contact[ version 2 | november 2010 ] pattern [ feministy | feministy fans group ]ravelry Lindsay is my favorite FuinKe. While Tobias has some of the best lines, Lindsay has some gems (usually related to her weight, her mother's age, or alcohol). I took my time selecting a stitch pattern for Lindsay. I wanted something sophisticated (since she's so into fashion), feminine (since she's played by the flawless Portia di Rossi), and simple (since she's not necessarily the brightest crayon). An intricate lace pattern surrounded by knit and lace ribbing gives this sock a little bit of simplicity, and helps give your mind a rest as you work the unique stitch pattern.
Yarn
100 grams fingering weight merino or merino blend. Shownin: Little Red Bicycle - Hipster Sock (430 yards per 115 grams), 80% superwash merino, 20% nylon. etsy.com
Gauge and Needle
Use the needle, yarn, gauge, and stitch count that work best for you when knitting socks if in doubt. These socks are very stretchy due to the structure of the lace and the ribbing. 8 sts/inch, using a US #1 1/2 (2.5mm) needle

Notes
This pattern is written cuff-down, with instructions provided for a heel flap. Please note that this pattern is written for two circular needles and uses the abbreviation "ndl1" and "ndl2" to indicate this. If using DPNs, make sure you pay close attention to this. Instructions for different sizes are provided in [brackets].

Tobias
[ feministy.com | liz.abinante@gmail.com ] contact[ version 1 | november 2010] pattern [ feministy | feministy fans group ] ravelry When it came time to knit the sample sock for this pattern, I emailed a friend and asked her "What color should I knit a sock that's named after Tobias on Arrested Development?" And she emailed me back, "Would it be too obvious to suggest blue?' Named after Tobias Funke, would renowned “analrapist," this sock is a little funky, a little strange, and a little confused by its path in life.
Yarn
100 grams fingering weight merino or merino blend. Shown in: Little Red Bicycle - Tandem Sock (400 yards per 115 grams), 100% 2-ply superwash merino. Shown in Tobias.
Gauge and Needle
Use the needle, yarn, gauge, and stitch count that work best for you when knitting socks if in doubt. 7 sts/inch, using a US #1 (2.25mm) needle
Notes
This pattern is written cuff-down, with instructions provided for a heel flap. Please note that this pattern is written for two circular needles and uses the abbreviation“ndl1" and“ndl2" to indicate this. If using DPNs, make sure you pay close attention to this. Instructions for different sizes are provided in [brackets]. There are separate instructions for the right and left sock: you do not have to make them mirror images of each other, but they look kind of awesome that way. The cables should be on the outside of the foot.

At the risk of sounding repetitive, the right sock has a cable on the right side of the foot and the left sock has the cable on the left side of the foot. This pattern will go significantly faster if you cable without a cable needle.
